Thanks, Stovall! I suppose that is how I could walk away from a job at Kennedy Space Center in 1997 after 4.5 years, I just did not see things progressing at the speed of the '60s. (Ok, so it really was to move to a better paid job...)

My dad and grandfather are conspiracy theorists....they'd celebrate it as the anniv. of the biggest con job known to mankind.

I haven't made up my mind...either way, it's pretty cool.

If it isn't a fake, who took the picture? Who was standing there with the Bell & Howell filming as Armstrong climbed down the ladder?
As with any conspiracy worth it's salt, the lack of evidence is proof of the conspiracy!

I personally remember watching it onTV. Afterwards a lot of us just wandered outside and talked to the neighbors. Or in my case, honked the car horn in celebration.

I was 14. Now I'm an Engineer.

Ack, now you've hit a sore point and got me started...

For the conspiracy theorists out there, all you need is a (very) good telescope and you can see the landing sites.
Proof that's a little easier to obtain, even if it's harder to understand, is the laser reflectors the astronauts planted. These are used by universities and companies all over the world for a number of things, such as detailed data on the moon's orbit, atmospheric studies, and other experiments requiring extremely long-distance laser signals.

Most things that are spouted by the big names as "proof" of a fake landing are so bogus that a smart third-grader could stomp 'em. Some of 'em the people on this forum should be able to figure out on a photography basis. Such as "no stars" and "this picture was taken with a fill flash." Sheesh.

BTW, here's a nice moon panorama shot:

One thing that pops up on a few of the pictures are the cross hatch hairs that DISAPPEAR behind the objects that are being photogaphed. (cross hatch hairs were etched on the lenses to give them prospective points to work with) Some of those photographs were actually on the NASA website for a while and anyone could pull them up, have not looked for a while for them so they may still be there. Wjen things like this show up it just indicates that the photos were doctored in some way and lends less credence to all of the photos. Not sure if MAN has set foot up there, doesn't mean that we didn't send some machines up there unmanned.

I do remember when this all was going on and watched like others across the world as it happened live with the poor television pictures and all.

Now back to the X Files!
