Has anyone heard that CS3 and Vista may not be compatible? - 07-20-2007, 10:48 PM

In the future?
I was talking with a computer guru tonight about my computer and CS3. It was recommended that I go with CS2 because there are problems with 3 and Vista and that Microsoft doesn't want to work together with Adobe, so something about not making a patch for it.
Anybody heard this?
Also if I go with CS2 if it is an upgrade version it will say upgrade on the box right?

This is misinformation at best. I am running Windows Vista Business Premium on my computer and CS3 works beautifully on the machine. I suspect that the person you are talking to may have heard about the 64 bit version? I know nothing of that animal, but the 32 bit version works just fine.

I have CS3 on my Vista Home Premium laptop and it seems fine. I did hear that there was a problem specifically with Vista Ultimate and CS3, but I don't know how reliable that info was or what the details were. I'm actually planning to install Vista Ultimate on my home machine soon, though I'm still debating whether I go with 32 or 64.

Breezy -

I bought my copy of CS3 right off of the Adobe website. You can download the software directly from them, and they will direct you to the version that is right for your operating system. The best part about this method for me is that they are always in stock. Good luck.

go to adobe's website...they talk about combatibality with Vista someplace on there. If I remember correctly, everything is great EXCEPT for the basic Vista.

There are no problems between CS3 and Vista. CS3 is also faster than CS2. As others have said just download the trial and license it when you are ready. Sounds like someone was trying to unload some old stock.
