Ok, this is odd, so whats the real scoop on this decision? Does the NFL think only Canon shooters are at sporting events?

If I could get my equipment on the sidelines I would advertise any company they required. Whether we like it or not, in all pro sports these days marketing is king.

It has nothing to do with what the guys shooting the games use. Its because Canon is an NFL sponsor. They pay to be the official camera company of the NFL. That's probably why they can use the NFL photos the Peter Read Miller takes in their ads, without the cost being astronomical. Kodak has been on all the Olympic photo vest for years and years now, because they are an Olympic sponsor.

Incidentally, at FC Dallas games, the ugly neon green vests they make us wear have "Panasonic Digital Cameras" plastered across the back. I'd like to see a Panasonic digital camera that you can shoot Major League Soccer with.

How about requiring the wearing of dead dogs around the necks at all Atlanta Falcons games to advertise the new NFL sponsor - PIT BULL DOG FIGHTS, Michale Vick Style?
