My Father passed away - 07-24-2007, 12:41 AM

Sunday afternoon my father passed away. My sister and I were with him in his last moments. He had been in a nursing home and they were doing CPR on him for around 10 minutes and he was not responding. my sister and i made the decision to stop the CPR and let him pass.

Some of you may remember he fought Cancer and won that battle for about a year and was finished with his treatments late last year. but due the the chemotherapy and other diabetes related problems he had been in and out of the hospital since January of this year. This last stint he had been in the hospital since early March, and then discharged to a nursing home on July 2nd. Since then he had not been doing very well. We knew he would never go home again, because of many of the problems he had.
I spent every night up at the nursing home with him after i got off work and my mother spent the night there with him many nights to help comfort him. the weekends were spent up there as well.

He was not in any pain the last hours we were with him Sunday morning/afternoon.

My father is resting peacefully now.

James

I fully understand the pain that you are going through after loosing my mom about 19 months ago (seams like last week), I am glad that it sounds like that he had made peace with his life towards the end and passed away realitvely painlessly at the end and that his family was around him to support him at the end.

So grieve, and if you need to just get away from everybody and let the emotions pass over you.

You and all of your family will be in my thoughts and prayers for a good while.

I'm so sorry for your loss, James. Please accept my condolences and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Your father was very fortunate to have a loving family around him during his illness and passing. Comfort yourself with the knowledge that he is at peace and is no longer suffering. God bless.

Que En Paz Descanse (May He Rest In Peace)

One of my uncles passed last week. We attended his funeral on Saturday.

My cousin hired a group of Mexican Norteño musicians to play at the grave site.

I almost lost it when they began to play a song called Te Vas, Angel Mio (Goodbye, My Angel).
