Help name our new dog... - 07-27-2007, 09:29 AM

Ok guys... So Lisa and I are getting a 9 week old Yorkie pup today..... and we are drawing a blank when it comes to naming him.

As of now the breeder we're getting him from named him "Moosie" and Lisa isn't too fond of that name. I suggested just plain "Moose" but that was a big negative no way as well..

I also suggested a couple of other names that she shot down as well and I have no reason as to why she didnt like them. They were "Cujo", "Hercules" and my all time favorite "Hannibal". I wasnt really gonna name him those but I did get a kick out of messing with Lisa...

Ok so guys... we need you help... Help us choose a name for our new addition!

ps. we'll get pics posted as soon as we get him later today.

Well I used to name my dogs after my favorite beverages. Miller, J.D. (Jack Daniels)....

When we got our Maltese I thought he looked like a little dust mop, so we named him "Dusty"

Well since he's a Yorkie, I should have something to do with Yorkshire.

How about "Leeds" for Yorkshire's greatest football team, Leeds United?

We couldnt decide on the name for our basset hound when we first got her . So we picked a few names such as "pickle","summer","mocha", etc etc and wrote them on paper, tore and lined them up on the floor, then we asked our fat but smart dachsund walk around the names. He stopped irght at the name "mocha"....
I love the name, coz it was chosen by another dog of mine, and mocha is my favorite coffee...hehe ..
i know this doesnt help, just wanna throw in some ideas.......
and oh yea, since she's so whinny and pampered, we now call her PRINCESS MOCHA"

Name him "Lenscap" ;)

Yorkies are cute, but they are still terriers.. so he needs a high energy name.

I'd go with Bob.

(Did I mention I suck at naming dogs? LOL)

A pic would help. Know anyone with a camera?

I think it would be fitting to name your puppy with some sort of photography type nicknames...
  1. Shutter
  2. ISO (pronounced..not spelled out)
  3. Contrast
  4. Exposure
  5. Focus
  6. Think Tank

I've been a little stress out about picking the perfect name for him.

Zeus
Milo
Tyler

and just think he's a puppy. I can only imagine if we had to name a child......

well, it would help to know a little about you ... your humor, your wit... to know what to name your new addition (congrats, btw.. I love yorkies)

I love MASH.. so I would name him "Hawkeye" .. or "Trapper".. you may love Seinfeld and like "Kramer".

I would also tend to name a cute tiny little yorkie something oxymoronic like "Killer" , "Mauler", "Kitty", "Major", "Pain"

My girlfriend would prob have you name him something cutesy like "Jewel".

Have you considered something photo related?

"Canon"
"Flickr" (i like that one.)
"Zoom"

That is cool how you came out with the name Princess Mocha. Very cute....

I thought of the name "Think Tank" but I just didn't feel it..

I think you are on to something Sonny.

He is SO SO SO VERY cute. I bring him home today. This morning (6:30 a.m.) I was wondering if he was afraid of thunder. Abel told me I should get a few more hours of sleep..... : )

I'd wait until you get him home and see what he is like, you can find a better suited name that way.
