I just saw that. He was one unique individual, but he loved what he did. Almost any comsumer reporter in Houston owes something to him I would think

I haven't seen that yet. How sad for all of us in Houston. I remember him being in television for as far back as I can remember anything!

I shot an event for the Variety Club a couple years ago and Marvin Zindler was the honorary MC. EVERYONE wanted their picture taken with him - a real sign of the respect and esteem that the community had for him.

Oh, I had no idea Marvin Zindler passed on. He was such an advocate for the ordinary folks and really cared...

My Dad was a reporter for The Houston Press in the late 1940s, and Marvin was a freelance photographer. If Dad heard of a police story, car wreck, or other interesting story, he called Marvin and they went together, Dad doing the story and Marvin taking the pictures. I just saw marvin a month or teo ago at New York Cafe.

Marvin Zindler, a Texas icon, dies at 85 - 07-29-2007, 09:42 PM

OMG!!!!!!!

no more sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime in the ice machine!

He will truly be missed!

He was a paragon of Texas and of KTRK.

No more "Marvin Zindler, eyewitness news"

God bless him. Another cowboy of the Lone Star state rides off into the sunset.

He left his mark on many Texan hearts. He will be remembered.

this is very sad. He has been on Channel 13 news for as long as I can remember and the news will just not be the same with out him.

Wow I knew he was sick, but didnt think that he would pass so soon. He said it best though i think, he said he was afraid to die. He was in his 80s and lived a great life.

RIP Marvin. I hope the kitchens in heaven are clean cause if not Marvin is going to expose them!

I ran into another retired Channel 13 anchor at a fund raiser about a year ago, and he didn't know how Marvin was even getting around much less working as far along as his cancer was then. He may have killed the Chicken Ranch but he led a helluva life anyway.
