the one about tagging and tracking Tiger's?

watched a good bit of it...I'm a little disappointed that Discovery HD isn't doing this as well.

My daughter and I love watching Shark Week together.

last night they replayed an old episode where they did some testing with Tiger sharks in Recife...one of the Tiger's bit at the camera and scratched the lens...they said it took 6 hours to grind it out....ouch

Ya, I saw that one, with the lens, too. I have been obsessed with it all week! Then a little jealous when I see the L glass these guys have!

my daughter and I love sharks, I'm so glad I got her interested in them. They're beautiful creatures. Shark Week is some of my favorite programming on TV. This year they really seem to have some new stuff, which is good because a lot of the shows have been repeats the last few years.

There was one on last night that was really neat, it was about the colors and what effect they had on sharks and types of things they'll eat etc. It was neat because they stuck some dummies in the water with black, red and yellow paint and such and showed how the behavior of the shark changed. They threw various types of meat in the water and showed what it would eat etc. Probably one of the best ones I've seen in a while.

FYI...wear black and hope you smell like a ham

Anything good on last night? After my 3rd margarita I sorta forgot that I wanted to get home and watch TV. Hey, it was my bday...I deserved it.

any of you shark fanatics encounter one in open water before? I was snorkeling about 10 miles off of key west and had a 6ft black tip come within 10 feet of me. There's a few divers on here who have some nice shots that they've captured. Mine was with a $10 disposable waterproof...but I got proof for the drunk guy at the bar who never believes a story

We need to get James to jump in and post some of his Photographs of Tiger Sharks from uncaged night dive with them in the Bahamas.

So far my greatest shark encounter was in the Flower Gardens in February diving in the fridgid cold waters to get a glimpse of the schooling Hammerhead Sharks. I had one as big as me come in real quick, coast just feet from my face, make eye contact, and then BOOM he was gone.

A couple of dives later in the murky waters of the clay banks we had a suspiciously large BLUR circling me and my buddy, just out of focus view. I suspect it was a Tiger shark, as they are common in that area, but it wouldn't let me get close enough to get a look. I was always right around 20-40 feet away from us.

The sketchy part was floating at the surface with our heads above the water waiting to reboard the boat. I think that is the first time I've ever been nervous around a shark.

I got around to watching an hour long episode last night that I'd DVR'd. It was a free diver from Africa who dove with sharks, specifically Tigers! I can't imagine how cool that must've been to be able to free dive with the Tiger sharks. The guy is apparently capable of holding his breath for over 6 minutes and hitting depths of 100+ feet. Doing that with Tigers would just be so cool.

man I wish Houston wasn't so far away from good diving sites, I miss diving. Sadly the closest I've ever been to a shark in the water was an instructor for another class saw one as she was getting out. I wanted to jump in, but the boat was moving to our 2nd location for the day .
