used to use these to make prototype parts years ago in the computer business, they were a bit more expensive then. The parts they produce are pretty much useless for anything but static display and 3D study. The plastic used is very brittle and not durable. It cannot take threaded inserts, for example. It really isn't suitable for actual production parts.

I saw a demo of one that you could thread and didnt need the powder or dip in sealant. very impressive but you did have to cut away some of the supports just depends on the subject.
