k...my sleping pattern is ALL kinds of messed up from traveling and sleeping on planes and being stuck in airports...so i fell asleep at 9pm and woke up bout 30 mins ago...and can't for the LIFE of me...get back to sleep...so...I pose this question to you all as I've just put in "The Notebook" (one of my all time fave movies) ...and it got me thinking...How Noah knew Allie was the one??? But more importantly...how do YOU know that your hubby/wife/fiance/girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever...is the "one" for you????

(and just for arguments sake...I do think in this life there are more than just ONE person that could make you happy...but thats not my point here) :)

So tell me your stories... I'd love to hear them!!!

When that person makes your heart stop and you can't breath. On my second date with my husband the song Samson and Galia was on and I told him that if there was a third date, he was mine! On the second date I had only known him 5 days! And the man must have been crazy or felt the same thing because there was a third date, the following night and three months later he was my husband. And after 29 years 8 months and 7 days, when he walks out a door or gets off the bus, my heart still stops!

It's called jet-lag. Stay awake until normal time (or as close as possible) then take some Tylenol PM to try and sleep through to get "back on track". Usually takes me about a week or two to re-adjust from Asia.

I love telling this story ... I guess I'm a hopeless romantic at heart ;)

My wife and I met our second semester of college at the International House of Pancakes in Denton, Tx. She was in studying and I came in with some friends for a late night snack. When I walked in she pointed at me, which completely freaked me out. I was sure I wasn't wearing pants or had boogers hanging out of my nose or something. A little while later she went to the bathroom and walked past me and smiled at me on her way by. I was completely taken by her. My friend saw this and said "Hey, wanna meet her?" and proceeded to get up and go get her, inviting her to come sit with us.

I probably said 10 words over the next hour and a half as I was completely out of my league. 3 of those 10 were my first name, last name and what dorm I lived in on campus, thank the Lord. I was so slick I didn't get her last name OR phone number. Fortunately for me, she was interested and came and found me a week later and gave me her number!

I took her to dinner that night at Chile's (I was in college, give me a break!) and I remember, distinctly, the moment I knew she was the woman for me. About 15 minutes into the date, she reached across the table and grabbed my hand and we made real eye contact for the first time. I knew, without any doubt, at that moment that I was done looking and she was the girl for me. It remains one of my happiest memories, up there with getting married and the birth of both of my daughters.

Say nothing about the fact she followed you to PROSPER!!!!!!!! She must love you! OF course it probably has grown since I saw it last...sorry, I just think of driving THRU your town!! Of course we used to drive thru our town too...Frisco...you don't drive THRU it anymore either...and that was only 7 years ago!! That is a sweet story Brad...glad you recognized a good think when you saw it!!

Ummm... well I think the other day...
I had a heart to heart talk with him and told him that I hated my job and eventually want to quit and do photography full time. But explained my fear in failing and putting our relationship in a debt situation and possibly ruining our financial future. He then replied with “Monique, I know this is your passion and there is no sense in living life unhappy. You will never know if you can succeed doing what you love if you don’t try. Do not worry about it not working out, whatever the future may bring, if it should get to that point, we will work through it together and we will be fine.”
I swear I almost cried! He is too awesome.
I think that anyone that believes in you and wants you to be happy is someone that you should never let go.
And I know that he truly believes in me since he makes sure that he is always at my shoots to give me support and a second pair of hands in whatever I might need. Rain or shine, hot or cold, he is there, with no complaints.

On October 21st at 9:31PM while out with a girl at a local bar in my home town of Jamestown NY she said "hey, there's my friend Kathi". I looked at the door and saw her and at that very moment I knew she was the woman I would spend the rest of my life with.

Yes, I do remember the exact date and time.

We were married in a seaside chappal in San Diego while I was in the Navy on December 2, 1972 at 1900 hours (San Diego time). Me in my uniform and her in a beautiful white wedding dress.

We ate at Jack in the Box that night that we had to walk to because we lent our 64 Ford Falcon to our room mates so we could be alone.

God puts signs in front of us all the time. It's up to us to recognize them.
