Need/want pics to decorate my classroom - 08-15-2007, 06:30 PM

Hi Guys-

Well, I have had a nice long summer, and I'm back to school next week.

I was up at school today, and on the way home thought...I need some really cool pictures to decorate my room with. I wonder if any of the people at TPF would be able to help?

So, I wanted to know if anyone had some cool shots that they would mind sharing with me? The great thing is that I teach Geography, and there is so much that could work. Anything related to different countries and/or continents.

I didn't know if people would be willing to give out their pictures for free...but it doesn't hurt to ask!

I am going to slowly start putting my work up on the wall, but considering I have only had my camera since May, I don't have much to work with yet.

Thanks!

Kelly,I have some images from Singapore and Malaysia too. Give me a weekend to "dig" them out and do some photoshop "magic"...and I'll post them somewhere so you can see if you like them...I'll let you know where to find them once they are done.

Lisa, have you been to those countries before? How did you like it?

I have some images from South Africa around Cape Town. Let me know what size you need and I can email a few. I'd hate to send you a 2meg file if you have dial-up.

Princess Mocha,

Yes, we spent two weeks in Thailand last year and have a much too short stop over (3 days) in Singapore. I wish we had been able to see more of Singapore. I would definitely go back to both anytime. The IMF was meeting while we were in Singapore, so security was much tighter than normal.

Had 2 many windows open and posted the wrong reply here-ouch.I have some pictures of Germany shot years ago (Wurzburg castle, bridge with lions), Spain, etc. but none of a printable size or where I can get to them. Do have an article about a WW2 bomb found right off of post that we had been driving over they found while doing road repairs that I have a scanned copy of (more history related than Geography) except for the fact that geographically we bombed everything except for the Castles Hitler was in while going after him. If you want it just PM me.

Wow, on other forums she would have been ripped to shreds for asking a question like this...I'm glad the TPF people are so much cooler!

I wish that I had something to offer...just a few shots of Palo Duro Canyon. If that is something you are interested in let me know, I would be glad to help you decorate your classroom!

Question print or digital file - 08-16-2007, 03:32 PM

Hi Kelly, I'm down here in the Austin area, and I was just wondering - are you wanting already printed and matted photos, or are you able to print and mat yourself? If so, I could just send you a file on a CD of something from Ireland. Got thousands of photos of Ireland, and I haven't seen that anyone else mentioned there yet. I think teachers deserve the best.

AMEN to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom retired a few years ago after 35 years of teaching k-6 with some stints doing Special Ed and GT kids.. so she worked the full range!!

How she did that and then came home and dealt with my sis and I.. I'll never know!! lol

Kelly - Thanks for taking the extra time to make sure you have 'neat' stuff to encourage and inspire the kids in your classroom! Says alot about a teacher that goes to this extra step!!!
