Question Creating tutorials? - 08-17-2007, 11:46 AM

This may sound silly but how do you create a tutorial like the ones found on good-tutorial.com?

I'm trying to make a step-by-step tutorial on my poster designs. Is it a word document, a pdf file, or something else? How do they capture just the image of their photoshop screen and not the entire desktop? Any other advise?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
-Sonny

At work I use print screen to capture views. Paste into Word. Crop and add text as required in Word. Create a pdf. It's not fancy but it's free/easy.

To capture the screen of just a window, with the windows in focus, hold down ALT while hitting print screen.

I use a program called Screen Print. It is pretty easy but only has basic functions. It does everything I need it to do. I save the captures as a jpeg or gif and then do any editing in photoshop (adding text or arrows or other markings).
Here is a link to it on download.com:

There's also a free program called Print Key 2000. It allows you to hit the print screen button on the keyboard and capture the entire screen or use the select option and capture just the area of screen in which you wish to copy.
