Boy, am I a &%(*&^ hole today! - 08-18-2007, 06:07 PM

Ever been a A-hole without trying and not feel real bad about it! First off, I blew someone off today, then I got blown off by someone else! Then I pissed a bunch of people by having a moving sale and not bieng there, lol! (I did not know we were having a sale at the store today, my secretary posted it and did not tell me) oops! Then I fired a music teacher the cowardley way, with an e-mail. He responded back with 10 calls that I did not answer. Young guy he will get over it! (actualy he was a thankless SOB! Bought him lunch 10 times and never got even a thanks!). What else ? I am sure before the day is over I can think of someone to piss off! Whew, that felt good. I guess from re-reading this, maybe I did put a little effort into being a A-hole! Sorry, but its taking me 41 years to finaly figure out that the good guy always finishes last. No more Mr nice guy for me.

Thanks! I am learning fast. I have been self employed for over 20 years, but its only been 2 years now that I have had people working for me. I use to think "I am not going to be that A-hole boss " , but it went against me in the begining. I use to try to be friends with them, but then they think you're a push over! Another reason I tried the nice guy thing in the begining was because of my short irish wick! I was surprised how in business I could hold my temper, but again it worked against me. Now after a few new employees I stay my distance and try to keep them from getting to friendly. Don't get me wrong, I do believe giving praise when its due. I find that a little priase once in a while leaves them hungry for more and you get more out of them. Its to bad, I would rather be one big happy family but the world is a strange place!

I own a pest control business and a small guitar shop! The pest control is the bread & butter and we are growing fast. The music is more a hobby that pays for itself. Actualy starting to make a little with photography, wich is what I would do full time if I had a chance! I would give up both in a New York minute to do this! (No wise cracks like keep you're day job! Please) LOL.

I hear ya Chris, DH is the push over but not me :D
Heck I have to tell you before we transfered here I call NASCC and asked how long it would take to get my house hold goods. The girl said a week, I said really we have never been able to get it that fast. Her response was well we are a small base and we aren't that busy in May/June. Most places that is prime time. Heck we had to set up the move in VA over 6 months in advance.

Any way we get here I called again (hadn't closed our house yet) same response a week will be plenty of notice. So I was like ok. We closed on our house on Thursday evening I called them Friday morning and wanted it by following Friday (end of May). I was informed it would be the middle of JULY. I FLIPPED OUT. We were staying on base so we went to the HHGs office. Some answer. I said unacceptable etc... In there for 2 hours same run around. So I stood up, looked at the supervisor, and said fine we will be speaking with the CO of the base cause this is BS. DH just looked at me like oh **** lol.
Anyway I tell the kids to get up, tell dh to come on and out the door we go. By the time we got in our car they were out there to tell us that they could have them to us the following Friday lol. DH was so relieved cause I seriously would have gone to the CO lol.
I just don't let people push me over or screw me :D.
Did that in VA too but I was praised by the time it was all over and done lol. They were probably jumping for joy when we left there lol

Good for you! We should rename this thread to "Were not going to take it " by Twisted Sister. Or "No more Mr nice guy " Alice Cooper I believe.
