I won 1st and 3rd in a print contest - 08-21-2007, 12:02 AM

and I'm not even sure of the name of the contest!

All I know is that last year I went up to Broken Bow, OK. and took some pictures for www.pinemeadowcabins.com and while I was there, I had time on my hands and took some extra images for myself.

The people who own and run the cabins suggested that I send up some prints for the local contest, and I did, but we missed the entry deadline by a day or so. end of story, I just told them to decorate the cabins with them.

well, unknown to me, my friends up there collected the prints out of the cabins and entered them this year for me.

The only thing I'm sure of is that the 1st place photo is the IR image that Abel randomly displays on this site of their fish pond/dock/and incredible clouds and reflections. For it, I got a medal on a ribbon, and a $20 check. I really don't remember what else I sent up that got 3rd place, but it was an image from the SE Okla area.

We were up there this week-end, and I kind of like this image I got of Sheryl and Broken Bow Lake.

If you are looking for a week-end get-away approx. 3 hours from the east side of Dallas, check them out. Fabulous cabins, and lots of stuff to do up there.

Shaggysnack,

how about those evening storms??? we were totally lucky with our timing, and sat on the cabin porch and watched the downpour and the lightning both days.

The Harley riders we saw up there must have had a real problem if they didn't make it in on time.

Love it up there in the woods.

We did some of the same. The worse part was I never even picked up my camera to shoot. There was potentially some great shots waiting to be captured. I was just enjoying it being lazy. I guess I can't really call myself a photographer.
