random weird thing - 08-21-2007, 04:44 AM

can anyone tell what this potentially says?

basically some time between last night and around 8pm this evening somebody wrote this on my desk... and it wasn't me or my bf. we're a little weirded out by it. there are only two possibilities we can think of - three if you include the idea of one of us sleepwalking and doing it. :p a.) someone came in through the window and did it. the window was open last night (but the screen was on) and i was sitting just a few feet away from the room the whole time. i never heard anything but i dunno... maybe they planned on taking something and took off when they heard me laughing at random youtube videos. b.) the fireman that inspected the sprinkler system did it. this seems the most likely to me but also very surprising. he was a friendly middle-aged guy... i can't imagine that he would have scrawled something strange onto my desk - but maybe i'm just naive.

either way i think it's friggin' weird!

[edit: for those wondering how we don't know it was there for a while - jah (the bf unit) just cleaned that desk down last night and wiped it with a wet cloth. he said it definitely wasn't there]

hmm....creepy illiterate person. It's a little more scary but my vote is for the window over the fireman. You need to get one of those singing bass fish that hang on the wall. They have motion sensors in them so if you hear the fish sing you know somethings wrong.

I think they are asking for carnal knowledge of you. Thats what it seems like.

We didn't notice until pretty late last night, I'm going to call the management today and ask them about it.

Beth,

If this is in your home, you should definitely report it as a break-in. I would also investigate beefing up your personal security. Lastly, there is one possibilty that you and your bf did not consider. That is that the phrase was written by "the one that must not be named".

David - Well, I don't want to report it as a break-in until I rule out the fireman guy. He was in my apartment for a legit reason - though I don't think checking the sprinklers involves writing on desks :o I'll post later after I've spoken with management.

Holly - I had originally thought someone might have been trying to jot something down and ran off the paper, but it doesn't really look that way. I think that perhaps the writing is a bit too crisp to have bled through something as well. It looks like it was written directly onto the desk.

It says that the author wants to "know" you in the Biblical way. This guy is pretty bold and just may get bolder so, unless you want to meet new friends, I would suggest you call the appropriate authorities. This person does not need to let out in public.

Ok, I called the management and the woman was sort of.... I don't know... she sort of went into defensive mode and sounded pissed off at me for bringing it up, like she thought I was going to sue them or something. She just said, "Our people didn't do this. We don't hire people like that."

I was -really- friendly and said I was just trying to figure out what happened, not accusing anyone of anything at all... but it was weird enough that I felt like I should bring it to someone's attention. She told me she would forward my message to the manager and the manager would call me back.

*shrug*

I guess I'm just waiting for a phone call then :p

"What do you mean someone shot out of one of our windows? We hire nice people, like that veteran a while back, Marine I think. For peats sake, we are a book depository." or "Relax Mrs. Lincoln, all we have around here are actors, and you know they wouldn't swat a fly. Relax and enjoy the play."

Someone writing intros like this on the furniture is a little off.

Be careful.

a police officer from my building called me a little bit ago (the manager called him instead of me) and talked to me a bit. from what he told me, it sounds like my manager basically called him and told him that i had put in some report but was stretching the truth and trying to get someone in trouble for something they didn't do. not only that but she said she spoke with the guy that accompanied the fireman inside (they send an employee of the property in with the inspector for security reasons) and he said that he was standing next to the guy the whole time. he's flat out lying! that guy stood in the front door and waited while the other guy went around the apartment. he even paced around and talked on his cell phone or walky talky thing a bit. i certainly wouldn't put any blame on that guy, i could have watched the fireman just as much as he did and neither one of us saw him do anything in that room - but it really ticks me off that he lied about it to keep his ass out of trouble and made it look like i was lying. grrr. so yeah... now it seems they all think i'm some sort of hysterical nutjob panicking over this "vulgar message" (i said probably 20 times that it wasn't really legible and that i wasn't sure whether it was vulgar or not), when really i'm more curious than anything. it's weird to walk into your room and see something written on your desk when you KNOW it wasn't there the day before. arggh... so with that my mysterious story ends. oh well - i was really curious to know what that said and who put it there. :p
