Yep! As I recall, she first out of the top 5 too. (4th runner up). I was in disbelief when I heard what she was saying during the telecast! I thought I misunderstood her until this!!!
I wanted Miss North Carolina to get it even though West Virginia is my home state and Miss WV is exceptional for a hillbilly girl.
Oh Well. I rarely ever pick the winner!

To be real honest, I didn't think Miss SC's question was all that hard but... I don't look that great in an evening gown so maybe it's a wash

Awww, maybe she was just nervous. They have built up that "Final Question" as such a big deal that maybe her brain just had a temporary melt down, and it is not a permanent condition.

The question was, as near as I can remember and I'm NOT watching that again, - Recent polls have shown that 1/5 of American's can't locate the US on a world map. Why do you think this is?

She was supposed to give a thought provoking answer. It sounded to me like every neuron fired simultaneously and all of her thoughts congealed into a sticky mess... kind of like when you leave a candy bar on the dash in the summer Maybe she folded under pressure...

That poor girl! -- sounded to me like she had several rehearsed answers floating around in her head, and none of them fit the question that she was just asked. She tried her best to fit them into the question, but just couldn't make it work.
