Myspace help - 08-31-2007, 05:46 PM

I have searched myspace and the web but cant find what Im looking for.

Basically when I an browsing through myspace, people have music that auto starts when you go to their page.

I dont want that, I though i found that option in my profile, but when I log off and then back on the darn music is back.

I guess its a personal problem I have, but I hate music that auto starts on any web site of any kind, it just irks me to no end.

You can set that for Your profile but not for profiles you visit...

You have to be really good looking and talented James

(or go here for the player thingy and here for the file storage)

O.. k.... that means that I didin't read what you wrote... I don't know any way to turn it off short of clicking the "off" button on the player when you open the page

You can not hear it by adjusting the volume control on your 'puter.

I have the same personal problem, but it's because I am always listening to my own iTunes when on the computer, and when other music automatically starts then I have two tunes going at once, until I find their off button. And some other sites besides myspace make it really difficult to find "off". In fact I've had to just evacuate some websites that were driving me crazy and I couldn't turn it off fast enough.

I happen to have a set of 'Bose Companion 3 Series II multimedia speakers' that has a big 'mute' button on a flying lead. Essentially a 2 inch wide hockey puck that is a volume control and tap to mute/unmute in the center. Works great.

Costs about $300 though (not just the volume control, there's speakers too :) ). I got it as one of the few interesting things on my credit card rewards program, otherwise I wouldn't spend the money.

But maybe some sort of easily accessable, physical volume control would work.

The other easy alternative is to avoid myspace - is there anything worthwhile there anyway ? :) (I'm just old...)

I've got a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The mute button on the keyboard isn't huge... but it works

And no... there is nothing worthwhile there at all... unless you happen to like my playlist... that comes on when you open my page
