Ummm yeah... I was just reading the latest issue of Backpacker Magazine. When I flipped through the first few pages (first = last, for some reason I always start at the back of a magazine when I read it). I saw an ad with the title- Do your part in reducing global warming. (BTW- Backpacker Magazine should be called Advertisements with a few things about backpacking but not much magazine). Apparently the advertiser has an idea for how to reduce toilet paper by 50% every year. That will save 27 million trees, 1.5 billion gallons of oil

, and 15 trillion "watts hour" of energy. That sounds good but I always want to see the numbers to back statements like this up... and it's watt hours not "watts hour"

. In some thread somewhere there was mention of the webmaster being able to trace the hits to his/her site from links back to here so I decided not to link their website from here.
Google washowipe. If you've ever traveled overseas you likely have seen their "idea". I've seen a homemade version that used 1/4" copper tubing.
I despise people that try to turn a dime off of the recent fad of everyone going green

None of us living today will see the result of "going green" in our time if we all started being "green conscious" today and kept it up until the day we died. Whatever is happening with the melting glaciers and warming climate started a long time ago and the mechanism that triggered it is more complex than we can currently calculate. It can't hurt to take care of our environment but all I see happening is a bunch of people with short attention spans buying into a bunch of commercial crappage that will make a few people some money before the fad dies out
