I am on a cable modem
I have run the CD (no help there really)
I have pulled all the IP addy, subnet crap, DNS 1 and 2's etc from the modem and entered ALL fo that on the ROUTER setup page per the instructions...after all of that, I can't get the router to find the internet....
If I UNPLUG the router and go str8 from the cable modem to the PC all is well...yet when I rehook the wirless router (correctly) and ALL of the lights are a blinkin...I get no internet activity...Is this a router/config issue...or can it be cable modem related (don't se how as it works directly connected to the pc...hence my being able to post this question here)...
OK I know some of you might can give me some direction |
This is Deja Vu! I had almost the identical situation last week, except I did not purchase the Linksys N router. It turned out that all I had to do was clone my computer's mac address to the router and I was all set. However, getting to that point was pure hell. Here are my suggestions:
(1) Try cloning your computer's mac address to the router (it is what the Linksys tech support told me to do and it worked).
(2) Connect your computer directly to the router and connect another computer to the router. Then contact Linksys tech support via their online chat feature. (Phone calls are pase now). Anyway, that is how I was able to go through the entire configuration of the router while I was talking with the Linksys tech support guy.
That is all I can suggest at this point. Hope that helps.
