Anyone get hit by the storm? - 09-13-2007, 05:44 PM

Did anyone on here get hit very hard from the storm that came through Southeast Texas this morning? The power is still down in many places around here. It blew through our neighborhood about 4:30 this morning and knocked the power out. The wind was blowing like crazy. My daughters trampoline got mangled and blow all over the yard. Other than that I got by with only a few flower pots and one window broken. If that was only a cat 1 hurricane I can't image what it must have been like around here when hurricane Rita hit.

I'm in Channelview, between Houston and Baytown. We didn't even get any wind or rain. Glad to hear your OK. One of my fishing buddies lives in Bridge City and he had about the same kind of damage - shingles, siding, potted plants, and dog kennel blown around...but then he found out his plant had shut down and they wanted him to come ot work!

I had the same amount of damage as I had from Rita, about 6-8 wheelbarrow loads of twigs and leaves.

We actually had an elderly man die during the storm here in Bridge City. I guees he was outside checking damage or moving items inside when his carport fell on him and killed him. Rather sad.
