I just purchased the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens
Although, I swear my heart stopped beating for a few seconds after I pushed the "purchase this item" button.

Monique,

I thought I'd never pay $1700 for this lens. Just couldn't get past the cost. Figured I'd just plunk down the $800 and get a Sigma. That was then! The other night I was able to use this lens at a HS football game for a quarter. Holy cow! I so want this lens. So this is what my penny saving is going towards from now on.

Congrats!

Congrats Monique! Excellent choice. The buyers remorse will be VERY short lived.

Monique, you're going to love the great bokeh - and muscle building features built into this lense.

I used to use it for portraits a lot - now just use if for church shots from the back. I've been using my 85 f/1.8 for portraits a lot more. Don't need more muscles!

All teasing aside, congratulations.

I know the feeling.. When I bought my Mark III, I had MAJOR 2nd thoughts and palpatations. LOL

Then what do I go and do after I said I was done for awhile? Pick up the 300 F2.8 IS a little over a month later! My wife is overjoyed.

One thing you'll be happy to keep in the back of your mind...Resale on these L lenses are very good.. So if nothing else, you could probably sell it in a year and lose less than 10-15% max. Not bad for a year rental. At least that is how "I" justified the 300..

Congrats.. I love that lens. One of my favorites for sure!
