I still go there, but you have to wade through quite a bit of junk. The S/N ratio seems to be the worst whenever a new product is released.
That's it! Thanks.

Well, when they develop a BS filter, maybe I'll start reading those forums again

I concluded they were a waste of time a while back. Too many gear-whoring pixel-peeping loud-mouths. Although, as Jeff pointed out, there are highly competent posters there (e.g. Doug Kerr, but I'm not sure if he still posts there or not. I always enjoyed his posts.).

TJ..please don't hold back your true feelings...

Last time I posted there, I dared to bring up such topics as composition... Good thing I had my asbestos undergarments on...

As other have said, you get all types on that site. I used to read it everyday, and the professional forum (I thought) was the roughest. Others weren't so bad, though. After awhile, i noticed that a lot of the topics became repetitive and the entire site became less interesting. I only check in about once a week now and I skip a lot of threads. This site is a lot more friendly, probably because we meet up from time to time. It's hard to be a jerk to someone when you know you'll be sharing a beer with him the next week.

Keefe.

Stopped reading dpreview forums ages ago. Haven't missed the place either. I just read the news and reviews when I'm curious.
