Anyone ever shoot at the Ghostbar in Dallas ? - 09-24-2007, 06:00 PM

I have got a party to shoot at the A-list Ghostbar in Dallas comming up and was wondering if anyone else has shot here. It looks like a awesome place to shoot. Any tips or ideas. Also is there private parking near the W Hotel where its located ? Thanks ahead of time .

I've never been there, but you might call the catering manager and ask about the arrangements for the specific party you are going to, parking, lighting and whatever else you want to know. You can also ask how early you can get there to look around.

Thanks Joe! I just found out I will get valet parking, yipee! I am going early, this place looks really cool. Its on top off the Hotel W in Dallas, should make for some great shots.

If it's on the roof, brush up on your "dragging the shutter" with flash technique. You should get some dramatic backgrounds.

Thanks Captain Tom. Yea it looks like it has some awesome lighting. I was looking at some images from there and you could tell there was a lot of drag going on. The only problem was motion blur on most of them.

I've never shot there, but I know it's definitely where the "in" crowd goes. If you pick up a back copy of Envy magazine, the Ghost Bar is in there. In fact, it might be in a lot of their issues including the one that is out now. It's supposed to be a very cool place, and I think the lighting is pretty neat.

Yes the In crowd allright! Funny the only way I am getting in is to take pictures, lol.. It is pretty cool to actualy get paid to go there. I am deffintly not on the IN list, I did not even know the place existed until today.

I have a friend who knows the owner or manager or something there, he has always talked about how cool it was, but me being in Kansas I had never heard of it and just assumed he was exaggerating. I might have to take him up on his offer to go with him sometime.

It is an AMAZING place to shoot! You take an escorted ride up to the roof in a swanky elevator.
there are bright colors everywhere... a wall of small circle mirrors... amazing lines!

You are going to get some great pictures!

EVEN the bathrooms are amazing lol
