If you haven't checked for lost funds - do it. Check for relatives and friends too.
My wife found an old paycheck in Texas for better than a grand (don' ask) and an old Lousianna tax refund for a about $50. Then she had to check everyone she knew - final tally: 6 people who got their money back. And a couple of others who these 6 checked on. A little paperwork and about 3-4 weeks later, checks were in hand.
Here is the site: http://www.unclaimed.org/mainframe.a...itorType=owner
It just links you to all the state entities responsible for lost property.
Good hunting. If you get lucky, post your results.

Yep - great source of info.
I actually use it in my job sometimes when chasing debtors. If we find stuff, it can be seized/garnished.

Never have I made this list, nor did I today. Why I check, I don't know.
But thank you. My wife is in here for $91 - from her current employer for some reason.
Now, how to tell her that for $45 I can make her $46 richer.
Next, what can I get from B&H for $45??? :)

Found $900ish in an account from my Aunt that passed away earlier this year. Told parents about it as they are the beneficiary. | | | |

I just got back $156 from Farmer's Insurance. Neat thing is they had to pay interest - the original amount was only $116. What amazes me is that I always got my premium due notices just fine - they just couldn't find me to send the premium refund when I changed companies! I got another $56 from another source.
First time I've hit the jackpot but my wife checks regularly and has found money for family and friends, including her parents who had lived in their house more than 20 years.
