a flight out of Corpus tomorrow for a family death without pay a min of $500 bucks? We can't swing that right now. The cheapest I have found it just over 450 as a military rate with Cont.
I have enough miles does anyone know if I can use them for something like this?

You can also ask for the bereavement rate. They may ask for the funeral home, etc, but it should help. You have to call the airline and ask for it. Also, if you have enough miles, you can ask if they will waive the expedite fee to use the miles under the circumstances.

also try a search for - last minute travel deals - and you'll find there are a few sites that have last minute sections...

Yes you can...I did when my Dad was extremely ill and I had to fly...but you have to do it both ways and have secure times and dates..

Priceline is about the same as the others, but I doubt they would give me a good "low" rate.
Delta was 1305 but online it was 552 crazy

Well I just spoke with my grandmother as it was her mother. And she asked me not to come home. She said it isn't worth it since I would be back by the end of the weekend and everyone would be in sour moods. So for now I am staying put. Thanks for the tips and suggestions I appreciate them. All of the other times we have been close enough to home to just drive. Oh well I will send a card and some flowers and as long as my grandmother is ok with it I will sleep at night.
