Decoupling peace from politics may give peace a bigger chance in the world. Decoupling a global warning from politics may improve a chance for maintaining living conditions on earth.
Unfortunately, most people relate immediately to their favorite party line when they hear about the issue.
What I would like to see is most people thinking about the effect of things they do everyday on the surrounding. Without political background.
For example, when you walk by a store in a strip mall, and it is 105 degrees F in shade outside, and the double open doors to the store that is running A/C with 66 degrees inside, and the cold air brushes off of your face, I'd like for you to think about the energy wasted to produce that effect instead of thinking about how cool it is that we can afford to cool the planet that way. (because you really can't - according to the laws of thermodynamics)
I stand on this soapbox and ask everyone to forget about the political background and do what you can to reduce waste. If you work in a store, close the doors. Don't ask politicians to pass the law forbidding such waste, because then it is politics.
I want this to be conscience-based, not party based thinking.
