"Is it easy to use?" - 10-13-2007, 08:32 PM

I thought about this forum today. I was at The Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound, standing in line to get my children's faces painted. The woman in front of me struck up a conversation with the man in front of her. He had a Nikon ( Not sure what model~ I have the D50 and it looked like a few steps up from mine). The conversation ( which I know we have all had before!) went something like this:

Woman: Wow, that is a really nice camera.
Man: Yeah, it's okay. Take pictures. works well. I like it .
Woman: So is it easy to use?
Man ( clearly beaten down by the conversation, letting out a big sigh, looking her straight in the eye) : No.

I laughed aloud.

She obviously didn't get that he was trying to end the conversation with that because she kept going, asking if it was a 35 mm ( ?) and some other stuff.
I started wondering if it was someone from here ( the guy with the camera, not the annoying woman, of course).

Just wanted to share.

yesterday at the Pumpkin Patch? Or were there just several annoying people out in the world yesterday torturing people with cameras, so more than one person had this conversation?

I've never been asked if my camera was "easy to use" but if I were to be asked that I would probably say, "yeah, really easy!"
I love talking camera talk to people, even strangers that don't know jack about photography.
I've never really been bothered by silly questions. Of course, that's because I'm the one usually asking them.
