what a day...long - 10-19-2007, 07:58 PM

my husband and i always get up at the crack of dawn - but this morning was a bit early - the dogs were 'ready to go' it seemed.

then i figured out why - i stepped outside with the usual barely dressed kind of shuffle walk of the first awakened...and whoa...it was cold on my little bare skin. the dogs were just frisky!

i thought - wow!! it's a great day to live in houston. let the dogs go, turned on the tea kettle...fed the dogs, went to sit down and read email and surf the net...like every other morning.

i posted in another thread...my monitor died. just wouldn't come back on from it's overnight nap. so...that started my day.

so before having breakfast at denny's with my best friend - a tradition we've been doing on friday's for around 3 years - i thought i'd check my bank balance. the second slam of the day. one of the lenses i sold to a friend in w. virginia...well, his check bounced. and not only did my bank draft it once..they drafted it twice. needless to say, the woman couldn't understand why i was so upset - and i'm like ma'am...you can't debit me twice for the same check just because you are trying to clear it twice. that's $1900!!!! she went yah...i see your point.

so off to breakfast - then to fry's for a monitor. the sales guys were the usual idiots that they always are...4 times they brought the wrong box from the back. the 5th time - it had the incorrect price on it, but was the correct monitor. i'm like dude...599 is NOT 400, no matter which way you slice it. so....

off i go back to the house, happy with my new big butt monitor...hook things up, read my mail, all is right with the world.

so i get this email - and i posted on another thread about this lady i did post processing for.. didn't want to pay me for a job - i wrote her a nasty email...well, she emailed me back. said she would gladly pay me more money to keep working for her. i'm thinking - well, i won't be turning this down. so i wrote the necessary apologies for being so mean..and i guess we are back in business under some different guidelines.

the guy that wrote the check to me - had a fraud issue - when he was visiting here in houston last week - someone got his debit card number and completely wiped out $15K from his checking account - he's sending another check via overnight from a different account.

so i guess - all's well that ends well...and its a great night to be in houston - the weather is OUTSTANDING!

that's all - be at the ren fest tomorrow! one more day of nice weather before the ick returns to houston.

.

Might be a long day and all, but to get all of those loose ends wrapped up in one fell swoop of a day, seems like a great day to me.

A big ol' deep sigh at the end of the day with the relief of accomplishment! Well played!

Janet, I enjoyed reading about your day. Probably because I've had a few like it. :)
