Smugmug Prints - 10-22-2007, 09:55 PM

For you guys that use smugmug for your websites...do you use them for prints or for people to order prints online? If so, any concerns? How was the quality?

A friend of mine shot a paintball tournament this past weekend and was thinking about using smugmug for displaying the images and ordering the prints. She asked me since I use smugmug for my photos but I've never used their print service.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't print a whole lot, but used mpix for my gallery.

I use smugmug for my prints, I have on occasion "sampled the goods" and it was good (with the assumption you took good quality pictures). I am not one to smoke my own stuff; I use smugmug so my clients can pick and print their own photos.

Once I post the pictures, I am pretty much done. Photos are mailed right to the client from smugmug, they take their cut, the rest comes monthly via a check .

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass these along to my friend. I use a regular account so my family across the U.S. can see snapshots of our family and to post photos of church group activities, etc. so have never tried to sell prints or order them.

I really appreciate the response.

I use them often for ALL my print sizes (don't mind the large prints being rolled)
they have a print profile you can use in PSCS2 for color matching which helps a great deal in print quality. I tend to get the Matte finish (tried teh Lustre a few times, but prefer the matte) If you have a Pro acount, your prices will of course be different from your client's prices
