Seems Canon has finally put info regarding the Mark III problem in writing.

Now to see how long it takes to stabilize the Mark III market again and how much this action will affect the market delivery of the 1Ds Mark III.

Apologies if this has already been posted. I looked but didn't search.

Doesn't amaze you that they don't catch this stuff before they release these cameras to the public?

According to Chuck Westfall, this has no bearing at all with delivery times on the 1DsMark III.

As far as being amazed... Not at all... I can't think of very many things in the consumer world that comes to market with absolutely zero problems (particularly computer based products).

I have been very happy with my Mark III for the last few months and I use it a lot. I am glad that there is an apparent fix for those experiencing issues though.

I'm happy with my Mark III too but if there's a even a chance that it needs repair I'll send it in. They have me on a list for "the fix".

I shot about 400 pics over the weekend, most of them in servo at the Mecham Field Warbird Fly-in, and my MkIII did extremely well I thought. There were a lot of OOF shots, but I had a feeling when I tripped the shutter that those would be slightly off. I was playing around with shutter speeds, trying to keep the prop-plane sharp and the prop blurred. Panning, to do that, takes some practice!
To say the least, I was very pleased with the sharpness of the images I got. But...It wasn't hot this weekend either.
I'm going to do the same tomorrow, with some low flying motorcycles. We'll see how well that plays out in servo.
