Aged Photos - 10-30-2007, 02:12 PM

Does anyone out there know how to apply an age to color photos. Not a weathered look but more of a porcelain skin but still colored...not black & white though...
I've just seen it on a couple of websites but can not figure out how to get that look! Thanks for your help!

Sepia tone is often used to enhance age.
I have used this often in my websites.

There is a preset value on Lightroom, "Aged Photo" that I like to use:

That's a beautiful photo! If you follow the info above before your post, it should take you to the color tone I am trying to get...

The example you showed looks a lot like a sepia to me :dunno:

It looks like they just lessened the color saturation on that shot- very lovely. I like that look (in certain photos):

I would say photomerge of b&w sepia with color photo.
I have done this often with wedding shots.
Its quite normal to do wedding shots w a combo of lower saturation color, photo merge, sepia. Just experiment with it.

Like the post above that this looks like a saturation level change.

The one I posted is supposed to look like an aged 35mm film photo, and its my 7 week old baby girl with my wife (1 month old in the pic)

There is a preset in lightroom that is called cold tone as well, and it has an effect a lot like this, but as others have said, it looks a lot like it is just a drop in the saturation to like a %25 level.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

I found a "vintage" action the other day out on atncentral that might do what you are looking for.

Go to that link and download the "Aly's Vintage" action set. (it has examples there for you to see what it does)
