Anyone in Dallas want to rent me their Canon fisheye for this weekend - 11-06-2007, 05:23 PM

Long story short, I had reserved the Canon fisheye at Light Tec, picking up this Friday and returning on Monday. Found out today that a previous renter left it in a camera bag and then backed over it with their car. Ouch. Lens is DOA. New one isn't in yet. I was so hoping to have some fun with it shooting exteriors at Thistle Hill in Ft. Worth and Reata before my son's rehearsal dinner on Friday. I'm going to call Competitive Camera tomorrow and see if they have one available for rent. But, if not (and I'll know tomorrow), any kind hearted soul out there that might let me rent one from them for the weekend? Ideally, someone would live near me (I'm in Munger Place in East Dallas), as I have so many errands to run already Friday a.m.

I take excellent care of my gear and I'd be happy to return the favor someday if someone is in need of something that I have.

Does anyone else on this forum keep their camera bag behind their rear tires?

Something sounds very suspect here. Haha.

Well my camera is equipped with a 1000 megasquirtle light sensitive array with a megakilo double widget interface and a pseudo-terrafilter. its got 2 million hexafurtles with a 10 kiloplex and a rechargeable virtual combo-backplate. i also fitted an optical fillyfangle with predictive threshold histogram monitoring. it also has a light sensitive light meter and a time sensitive shutter mechanism.

Jon, are you telling us that you are the "previous renter?" I didn't have the heart to ask them who had done it. I sure don't put my camera bag down behind my car and now I'll know to NEVER do it!

Me? Definitely not! I don't shoot with Canon gear.

It doesn't even sound like something I'd do. I just wish I was there to hear the story from the renter when he came in. It was probably pretty funny!
