Fair Price - 11-06-2007, 09:27 PM

I was wondering what most people charge or see as fair price when shooting sports? What do you get for pictures? It seems everyone like the 12 cent 4x6.

Thanks
Charles

For events I sell is a 5x7 (which also fits the cropping of the camera better) for $12 each, 8x12's for $17, 16x24's for $55 and 20x30 for $79. I don't sell 4x6's or 8x10's as you will have to crop each image.

If it's a youth league you may want to adjust pricing to the local market. I would check to see who does photos currently for the YMCA or local youth sports league and compare their prices. You should be able to find this online. I know TSS Photography does alot of the shoots for the local YMCA.

Remember, your not selling the .12c print your selling your services, experience and talent. Just make sure the quality justifies the costs.

I agree 100% We where selling 4x6's but that is what everyone was buying and we felt our images and work should be on no less a 5x7.

5x7 = 5.00
8x10 = 12.00
etc..

Your time and efforts are worth more than .12....

.....

Uh.....most DSLR's ratios fit the 4x6 format better then 5x7. Like 4x6 would be un-cropped and 5x7 would need cropping.

You are correct about the 4x6 I was thinking of the 8x10 and that's what happens when I'm typing so late into the night.

What ever you decide don't undercharge. You will regret it.
I sell more 4x6 than any other size some parents buy 10 a game. A lot of parents buy them as proofs and then come back and order an 8x10.

Don't think the small pic size = small money.

Just my opinion,

Don
