Public or Private Parking lot?? - 11-09-2007, 10:37 AM

Is a shopping center parking lot public or private property? I had a shoot this weekend and was meeting the client at a central location (off Woodway close to Voss Rd) there was a Blackbuster and a Walgreens and I went to the Walgreens to get batteries and while waiting for the client (she was running late) I closed my eyes for a bit.
well I get awakend by a rent a cop telling me "you can't sleep in my parking lot"
WHAT???
I told him I was waiting for someone so he circled the lot on his golf cart until I left. Kinda got me PO'd but I didn't want to start anything until I was sure he was right since I never heard of that.....
I'm not gonna go into the fact that there was another gentleman there doing the same thing that he didn't bother - just happened to be a different color...but I'm not gonna go there
