Thanks Murph... "Semper-Fi" to my brothers...

That's an fantastic U-Tube presentation.

There was an outstanding 'Veteran's Ceremony' yesterday at the Utopia School. It was organized by the National Honor Society and presented by the school kids. The elementary music class provided the songs, the junior high band performed the music, and the seniors put on the program.

A good part of the community showed up for the program in the High School Gym. There were about 50 living veterans honored. Special honors to about 10 veterans that were killed in action; from WWI through the Iraq Wars.

After the inside program in the school, there was a memorial program held at the city square to plant a tree (Burr Oak) and place a concrete bench in the memory of one of our young men killed in Iraq.

Absolutely an outstanding program.

Our local Volunteer Fire Departments and Voluntary EMS have just added a section to their website to honor veterans from the Utopia-Vanderpool area. It's not complete yet; but they have a good start. The community is excited about this project.

Here is the URL, if anyone is interested: Honoring Our Veterans

Thanks again for your post Murph.

I shot a Marine Corps Birthday Ball for the Marine Detachment here on Fort Meade - it was like a giant wedding without the bride and groom (really: everything else was there. Cake, food, speeches, dancing, alcohol...). I had a great time shooting some 'uncontrolled action', and got a nice dinner to boot...

For training, D200s with a decent range of lenses. For actual work, we use the D2H.
