Thumbs up Thanks (again), bondarnes and TPF! - 11-12-2007, 10:35 AM

I had a booth yesterday at a local "show" called Holiday House. It's about 100 vendors at the local HS, and is mainly arts and crafts, but the average attendee in right in my target demographics.

Since I've never done a booth before, I had no way to stage a bunch of prints. One post on TPF, and Don Barnes loaned me the hinged doors you see below. They were perfect, and the day was a resounding success. I booked several new portrait sessions, had lots of takers on the "show special" flyers that were available, had a chance to meet and greet a lot of internet order clients, and got a TON of exposure.

For those of you that haven't done something like this before, it's a great experience. I ran about a dozen show booths in my former corporate life, but this is different. It's a huge ego boost when you get so many oohs and ahhs over your work, and are there to chat with the folks that appreciate it.

Thanks to Don and TPF--I owe you another one. I hope I can return the favor soon.

BTW, this isn't the first time Don has bailed me out. He's a great help, and a true mentor.

It was really informal. As you can see, my wife was even selling ladies flat wallets at the table (long story). I won't do that next year, and will have a larger table.

Certainly worth the measly $85 investment to register for it.

I started to type out something to explain the gratitude that I feel for Don Barnes, but I am not enough of a poet or author to be able to put the words together that express how much I appreciate his kindness, generosity and hospitality.
Thanks Don.
