By not doing your job. At least they remembered to come to work that day.
We can't say this about all workers. There may be people who work for UPS here on the forums.
Further, I hear UPS pays good money if you're with the company for 20+ years. I'm talking about like $30 an hour if you drive the semi's around. Thing is, they do NOT hire semi-truck positions for people off the street. The only way you advance is by starting as a package sorter and moving up after years and years to better / higher paying positions.
My point is, the "truck" driver certainly doesn't get paid as much as a "semi truck" driver for them. I'm also not sure how far away it is from the $10 an hour package sorter on the seniority totem poll. However, I'm sure those guys did have to work their way up quite a bit.
