All I can say is this "Friends suck to do business with " Like the saying goes if you can't @%$*@ a friend the who can you %$^&#! Good luck with this. I believe you owe you're so called friend nothing! That is if you did you're part of the deal and did some web work.

Ouch!

Well I would do whatever it takes, but before you pay anything ask for a DVD of the whole thing so that you can review the images.

I would then proceed to call and see if you can come to an agreement. Now the images are worth way more now to you than ever.

I am sorry to hear this. She might want to consider taking some Business Ethics classes instead at UT..

I hope you get it straightened out. I have promised myself that I would not comment further on this type of subject. It's just too bad that it happens to good people.

Good luck.

Why don't you contact PPA. Professional Photographers of America. If she is a member they will come down very hard on her. If she is not they will still act on your behalf and attourney's will contact her.

PPA takes all aspects of this business very importantly.

www.ppa.com

Give them a try, other than that you will need to contact your own attourney.

Sounds like a good way to go! Also does it matter if you are or are not a memeber of the PPA???

Well, now would it not be really neat..to show up at one of her photo classes at UT...and standing in front of the class....tell the story...

just a bit of devil in me would want to do that.

good luck!

I am very sorry to hear your story, but must say that is not the first time I've heard this happen, nor will it be the last. Dealing with a full time professional photographer is the only assurance you have that things will go as planned. Even then, there are bad apples in the barrel, and they usually go by the wayside eventually.

This is like reading about a football game ending in 100-100 tie. A lot of points were made by each side but defensive errors all over the place must have occurred, too.

Contact the Mediation and Facilitation Clinic at UT. No charge even if you are not a student. Call Dr. Maxwell at 512-471-1954 for info. You and your friend could benefit from mediation. A neutral party helps you and the photog reach your own settlement.

Neither of you appear to have been clued in that much to the business of wedding photography or even to realize that you were entering into a business transaction. Be that as it may, UT may help the two of you come to a satisfactory resolution.

Bill
PS TPFers: In this note I have placed all I know of sports.

I just hate it when someone spoils a perfectly good rant with all this common sense...
