www.maverickphotographer.com

(from the site:)

"I am no top gun photographer - I am not naturally artistically gifted and I certainly didn't go the Photography School for three years... I came up through the Photography School of Hard Knocks - one of those renegade rookies who was thrown out on the street and 'trained' for three weeks until I was a 'fully fledged' photog.
BUT...
I have worked for a lot of the big guns - I have photographed kids in Kmart stores the whole length of the eastern side of the States... I've done church directories... I've done fund raisers in schools... for the fire departments..."

I disagree with the following simply because some teachers certainly don't teach for the money. It's because they actually enjoy watching people learn from their experience and knowledge. They figure what good is all this knowledge and experience if they don't pass it on.

you know these people who teach in photography school - I have two lines of thought - like most teachers they've never lived a life in the real world and had to fend for themselves... or - if they were really successful as photographers they would be making so much money, why would they be bothered with a measly paying teaching job!

Teacher guaranteed income, possible insurance compared to possible making it on your own?Not everyone is out to become rich and prosperous, some are satisfied with more secure jobs. All people who teach anything could probably be making more money not teaching, but they enjoy doing it or else there would be a big shortage of teachers. What will they think of next, get rich schemes off of reality has turned into the stock market as the next thing to exploit. Mind though I didn't read on to see if this is what they where up to, it just sounded like the same kind of presentation.

FWIW, that's why I teach. I don't need the money I get from it, but it is fun to share the experience with someone. I taught at university for a while too - there's something special teaching someone who actually wants to learn. I don't know that I could handle teaching kids though!

Want to know how he makes his money?

http://stores.ebay.com/MoneyMakingPhotography

$200-$400 from people wanting to know how he makes his money...

That's how he makes it. Selling junk to those who think they can get there for free.

Sorry, no such thing as a free lunch. Ha!
