Whole family SICK! (almost) - 11-19-2007, 11:22 PM

Well. just my luck. Starting Thursday my 6yr old got some stomach bug...couldn't keep anything down for 2 days.. Then my 10month old daughter started in with the same thing Saturday night and was still sick as of this evening.. So.. I am up here in my office surfing away.. and I notice something... My wife now has the same joy happening to her.. OMG...perfect timing.. we have family arriving tomorrow to stay 5 days for Thanksgiving.. and knowing me.. I'll get the bug on Thanksgiving day..

This sucks! Just wanted to vent. Perhaps I should just sleep outside tonight.

UGH UGH UGH.

Ya last week I got the flu and the cold/cough thing that's going around. I am over the flu part thank God just in time for Thanksgiving, but still have no voice and coughing. It's going around where I work but since I work in the NICU there are always little bugs going around! Have you tried a preventative medication like "Airborne"? I know a lot of people that if they even think they are getting a cold or the flu they take "Oscillococcinum" and swear by it. You can get them both at Walmart in the cold medicine aisle. Those Vitamin C drops by Halls work good too to bulk up your immune system-just don't take to many!! The body has a way of lettin ya know if you have taken too much Vitamin C Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Andrew, hope you don't get it!!! We had that happen when we had our house on the market...one kid in the hospital with it...and then....the washer broke!!!!!! It was a test to see if your neighbors are good enough to take your puked and p**ed on clothes and wash them for you!!! I hope you don't get it and your washer doesn't break!!!!!!!!

keep the faith andrew - my husband, daughter and her boyfriend all had it a few weeks ago- i washed my hands like crazy - and escaped!!!!

can i just say, i have an incredible phobia against puking..... and it's more than 'i just don't like to do that' - it's a full blown phobia - i get really weird about it, so i was very grateful i didn't get the bug they had.

Oh no, now I am worried. My five year old kept saying her "tummy didn't feel right" yesterday while we were shopping and started running a fever last night. Guess I need to make sure all the towels are washed today!

So sorry your family is sick. Hope you escape the wrath!

My son has it as of 2:30 yesterday. Sick every hour like clockwork. I am worried that my daughter will get it too, because her "tummy feels icky" -- both are home from school today and, of course, I am booked solid all day. Thank goodness for grandmas, LOL. My mom will keep them while I'm shooting till their dad comes to pick them up for the holidays.

Hang in there! I hope you escape!

You have my sympathy, I'm coming off a week and a half bout with the flu (yes, they stuck the q-tip up my nose to diagnose me!) . . .luckily, none of the kids or my husband are showing any signs or symptoms yet.

I'll keep fingers crossed for all of us on the boards that the holiday is a mostly healthy one.

Good stock photo opportunity. Sick kids, thermometers in mouth. Little kids holding teddy bear. Etc. You should net out on this.

Oh yeah, sorry about the illness.

I thought I had dodged the bullet on this one...until 4:00 this morning when my five year old was standing at the edge of the bed saying, "I need some medicine, my head hurts." I gave her some tylenol and she promptly threw it up. So now we are up watching Cinderella, waiting for her sister to wake up and see how she feels... Should make for an interesting day at the in-laws tomorrow!!

Let the hand washing begin.

Hiope everyone's family is healthy soon!

Hang in there with the little ones....this has been a very bad year for illness for us also.
