Beaumont people. - 11-28-2007, 06:15 PM

I'm going to be down for a week starting on the 6th. It's been a bit since i've been back home and really looking for nice abandoned buildings. I have about one day to go out and take pics. Where to go.

I'm also keeping this simple, and only bringing my Canon 50 1.8

Check downtown Port Arthur and Downtown Beaumont. In Beaumont there are several near Crockett street. In Port Arthur go anywhere downtown and youll find plenty- just dont go at night.

Yeah, I hate PA, but I might head down there. Hoping to get some good pics when I go out hunting over the weekend.

Used to deliver pizza in Groves/PA and had to deliver to the projects over on Gulfway. It sucked.

They recently tore down my favorite abondoned building in Beaumont, but there are still some good ones downtown.

They tore down an old white building about a block off of the river. I don't know which street it was on, I just knew where it was at. Here's a shot I did with it. Unfortunately it's gone now.

Thanks. I've seen a few being taken down, or being refurbished around the port area, mostly on Sabine Pass St.

Here's another old building I came across in downtown Beaumont a couple of weeks ago. I really like the patterns the bricks coming through make.

I think it's the old Phelan Co. building. If you're leaving Crockett St going back to MLK (on Park St. I believe) it's to the right just before the underpass at the railroad tracks. The building really has some character on the exterior.
