I'm not a cat person by any means but I'm impressed with the way my friend's cat was mostly cooperative for my homework. I did this with my home set up. So what do y'all think?

I think you did a very fine job of photographing a beautiful animal.

(I love cats, but the a hair drives me nuts.)

I second the opinion! Cats can be wonderful subjects. Recently I had opportunity to shoot 2 cats in same family. One did exactly what I wanted him to - without me even saying anything! (can cats read minds?) The other I only got a few not as good shots. Never could get them together. But I love shooting them anyway. Their expressions are priceless.

Awesome. I like all three. The frame created by the box and the humor of the pedestal just kills me. The technical aspect for the DOF in the third with the dreamy bokeh, sweet.

You did a great job making this guy (or gal as the case may be) look very regal!

Wonderful Job!

Excellent shots! The first one really shows the cat's personality, even though all you see are the eyes. I love that it is "out of the box" while only showing "in the box." That cat has some awesome eyes.

Thanks everyone! He wasn't to keen on being in the box so we had to keep bribing him with cat treats.

On #1, the first thing I saw was the latch on the left side. It looks like a cartoonized cow's head in it's shape. It detracts from the cat IMHO. Perhaps a recrop. Really like them all. Cats have such great personalities, but it's so hard to capture. Nice job here.

Nice work, but it seems that this thread would have been a bit more appropriate in the "Nature and Wildlife" forum.

Yeah, I was debating between Nature and Open Talk, but I typically don't consider domesticated animals (in a home studio) as wildlife.

Definately looks like a "pedestal" type cat Ya I have a cute pic of my cat but her ear is cut off in the pic because she was playing stalker under the bed, flyin' out then suckin' herself back under. I was suprised I could even get one in focus! I love the green background-great work!
