I see everyone else was as clueless as me.

Should have gone to the Gaylord to shoot Christmas decorations. Maybe next weekend.

Sorry John
I just got home. Gaylord would have been a good choice. Even Bass Pro shops has some photo ops.

I've got to get over there myself this week.

There are some cotton fields out here that will look great lit by the moon, and Texas Tech has just turned on their Christmas Lights. Always makes for a nice photo op.

You really didn't say how far west of DFW

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

Never thought of Bass. I'll put that one on the list. Thanks.

Just remember what Lisett Model said, " New images surround us everywhere. They are invisible only because of sterile routine convention and fear."

Find your own....

True. However, sometimes the creative juices stop flowing, and I need help turning the spigot back on. LOL

Cabelas Rocks! Especially if you enjoy good taxidermy work. I gotta get out tonight if possible and finish up my theme for my 2008 Calendar. Thought I'd hit the stockyards, that dark place off Northside Drive for a city skyline and maybe the water gardens but you have already been to all those I think.

OK, excuse me for being ignorant... Do people actually go into Cabella's to shoot the stuffed animals? I've never even considered doing that, and I'd probably do a double take if I was walking through looking for a new rifle and saw photographers doing shoots of the taxidermy. Does Cabella's mind or have any rules about photography in the store?

(FWIW, I have NOT been to the local Cabellas, I am familiar with the one store back in PA and it was amazing. SO, if the DFW CAbella's is different, I apologize in advance.)

I've seen people do it. I think you have to be careful though. I had the Wal-mart security ask me to put my camera away one time. It was an event for some kids. I wasn't actually photographing the store or merchandise. I know Cabelas is not Wal-mart but they do have some fantastic displays at Cabelas. I've never been to the one in PA before either but I was impressed especially with some of the racks and the surrondings. They had special rooms for the work. You should drop it when you can Matt. Tell us what the differences are in the locations.
