A Reminder of Uganda - 12-02-2007, 11:41 PM

About a month ago a pastor from Uganda came to visit my church. Chris Lubega is not only a pastor, but he and his wife are also the directors of an orphanage that care for 800 children. I had the privilege of spending the following Monday morning and afternoon with him and will forever be changed by it. I hope you don't mind, but I am asking every friend I have to help raise money to provide mosquito nets for the children of this orphanage. Shultz Middle School in Waller, TX has already had a penny drive and raised $900 for this cause. We need $5100 more to provide these nets which can save the lives of the children. I have seen a few posts here from Uganda and I have seen that there is interest in helping, so please know that is why I am posting here.

I am posting the following link to show you a video that was shown in my church today. This was from a recent trip to the orphanage where Pastor Chris cares for so many. As you can imagine I felt the need to do something right away! Please understand that this is just my mission in life and only give if you feel like it. PM me if you are interested in finding out how you can help. We are going to send the money we have and any we receive in the next few weeks by 1/08. Thank you for reading.

Lisa

From our perspective here, it's kind of hard to realize that the simple act of sleeping protected by a mosquito net could be a matter of life or death to a large majority of the people on this planet.

I have always subscribed to National Geographic, so I have already read this article, but you may also want to inform yourselves of this global threat.

All I want to say is "Good on You" Lisa!

Thank you so much Jerry and Thomas. This does mean alot to me, and I can say that as soon as I get a chance I will go over there. Until then, I will continue to try and raise money for them.

Once again, if anyone is interested in donating, please PM me and I can give you the information on where to send the money. This is for such a great cause and it is only $10 per net.

With sincere thanks,
Lisa
