Suggestions for New Years - 12-03-2007, 10:47 AM

I've been REALLY busy at work lately, and upon looking at my schedule, I was able to get some time off for the holiday season, that I hadn't really planned on taking off. Being away from work will be nice, but I'm looking for a few last minute ideas on get aways.

I'll be off Dec 30 through Jan 6. My problem is that since this is New Years, and I hadn't planned in advance, I don't want to spend a million dollars on a hotel or airfare anywhere. Is there any hope for last minute ideas that may include a little "road trip" out of the Dallas area? There is no reason to have to do anything special for New Years Eve, just looking to enjoy a little time away while not worrying about jacked up prices for the Holiday.

Thanks for any suggestions. It seems all this time at work has dried up my creative thinking process recently.

The Little Texas coastal towns between Galveston and Corpus are nice to explore this time of year. Also the towns of the Texas Coastal plain between San Antonio and Corpus.
