Thanks for the reminder - I was at Pearl in September. Very moving memorial. I found my dad's best friend's brother's name on the wall, Lt. Walter Savage, Jr. He had finished #1 in his class at the Naval Academy and had his choice of assignments - had been there just 2 weeks. I don't have the pictures with me to upload....maybe later.

We were there two years ago. In addition to the memorial, a reality check was when we took a helicopter ride and we followed the same path as the Japanese as we went into Pearl.

This is the Arizona and the black tears, the oil droplets still rising to the surface.

after living there for 3 years you never forget things like this...it's a sombering effect to visit the memorial, and working in it's proverbial shadow everyday is intimidating
