I woke up at midnight to find my A/C was out. Only to learn it needs a new compressor!! And they can't install it till Tuesday PM...
Who would have thought that would be a problem in Mid-December. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Geez… it is too hot. 81 @ 75% humidity inside the house. Was going to “clean-up” the office, but find myself wishing for some of that snow right now. Guess I should have paid the electric bill, instead of buying more cameras?…. Nah…

Nice for 10 months a year???? You must either like sweltering heat, unbearable humidity, flash floods, mosquitoes, or fire ants. If those things are up your alley, then yeah, I could see nice for 10 months/year.

The problem is modern houses aren't built for the local environments. I live in a house built in 1884 and rarely use a couple of window ac units but just set the windows. You would be surprised what a difference a 12 foot ceiling can make as double hung windows.
I would love to live where it never get's below 65 degrees if that unless it was a place where life is more paced.

I moved south to not live where it snows anymore .. if you want snow .. move where it is.

John, you also live in a very dry climate. Our AC here isn't for cooling the air, it's for dehumidifying it. It is a totally different world here.
We were swatting mosquitos while hanging the lights outside a few weeks ago....

The gods must hate me… didn’t get cool (in the house) till well after midnight. Woke-up to a nice cool morning… went to work thinking all would be good, only to learn that the AC guys can’t come till tomorrow afternoon. And the front moved back up, so another sticky night. All the nice cool air was wasted today while I was at the office…. only to come home to this. Yuk… | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
