Cookies, Fire, and shimmying Butts - 12-08-2007, 05:58 PM

So, what would you do if you heard someone yelling 'help! come quick!' and you walk in the room and see your spouse holding a cooling rack full of flaming cookies? I threw a glass of tea and 2 cups of water - smoke detector is going off. Fire's out. And I see my 2 kids butts shimmying on the floor toward the front door. Nothing but festivities at our house! And the what would you do - apparently Mike wanted me to turn off the burner?!?!? (He was trying to save the cookies)

And I know - this is useless without photos. I needed a movie camera for this one. lol!

I just came back from a nightmare christmas light watching trip with my children. This made me laugh out loud. Thank you so much! I would have thrown the tea too!

I thought this was gonna be the Charles Addams cartoon where the kids are stoking a roaring fireplace in the background, and Gomez says to Morticia: "The little dears. They still believe in Santa Clause."

lol. No thats next week. After Mike gets over this trauma.

At least we know where our priorities are:
  • Holly wants to save Mike.
  • Mike wants to save cookies.

If you are ever at one of our workshops with hot lights - choose your seating wisely b/c if everything goes up in flames & it comes down to it - ya know Mike's gonna choose to save the cookies!

I'm not a Texan! (Mike and I are both NYers - who live in TX). It was what you all call 'fake tea.' Lipton Iced Tea. My guess is you woulda thrown it too.

And they were regular Nestle Toll House chocolate chip. We have a secret family recipe for chocolate chip cookies - if those caught fire, ya, I woulda ate them anyway. THOSE ARE SO GOOD! These ones - not so good with tea.
