thought this would be fun :)
1. If you could shoot a portrait of any person that is alive today, who would it be?
2. If you could shoot a portrait of an person that has died, who would it be (assuming they were back alive for the photographs)?
3. What is your least favorite aspect of modern photography?
4. Challenge: You just got plopped into a wedding reception with a camera and a hot-shoe flash. The lights are very low, and the ceiling is high and black. How would you shoot it?
5. If you HAD to shoot film, what camera/lens/film would you choose to use for your current work?
6. If you could have one item added to your equipment list, what would it be?
7. What is your least favorite type of photography that you do?
First thing that pops in your head:
8. Color or Black and White?
9. Landscape or Commercial?
10. Portrait or Wedding?
11. Strobes or Natural light?
12. 645 film or full frame digital?
and lastly...
13. Who is your favorite living photographer? (Can't say yourself ;))
actually no, here's the last one:
14. If you could have a photographic superpower, what would it be (think of something)? | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

here's my go:
1. Myself :D I couldn't decide on anyone else...
2. this is difficult. I had to narrow it down to a few: The Apostle Paul (Jesus was my first pick but I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle that, haha), Miles Davis, Audrey Hepburn.
3. pixel peeping and the obsession with equipment...because I suffer from it.
4. Shoot fast primes at ISO 3200...or use the speedlite straight on and drag the shutter for cool effects
5. oh golly. For weddings, probably a mamiya 645 AFII or a Canon EOS 1v. multiple lenses. For portraits a Hassy 500CM or an RB67 (various primes, probably a 150 though). Film: haven't decided on color, but for BW i'd use tmax 100 and hp5.
6. That darn 5d replacement that hasn't come out yet. Or the H3d :D
7. I really dislike shooting family portraits most of the time.
First thing that pops in your head:
8. Color or Black and White? Color
9. Landscape or Commercial? Landscape
10. Portrait or Wedding? Portrait
11. Strobes or Natural light? Natural w/reflectors :D
12. 645 film or full frame digital? FF digital
13. Don't have one...
14. Ooh I'd either have the power to see any awesome expression or event before it happened (for weddings...think 'my photog sense is tingling') or be able to see and create 'the perfect light' whenever I wanted. | | | |

I'll play, but some of the questions don't interest me, so ...
3. What is your least favorite aspect of modern photography?
The death of good photo-supply (as opposed to "camera") stores.
4. Challenge: You just got plopped into a wedding reception with a camera and a hot-shoe flash. The lights are very low, and the ceiling is high and black. How would you shoot it?
I'd let the pro handle it ...
5. If you HAD to shoot film, what camera/lens/film would you choose to use for your current work?
"HAD" ?? I CHOOSE to shoot film most of the time. As for the second half of the question, I use whatever gear and film is appropriate.
6. If you could have one item added to your equipment list, what would it be?
Medium format pano camera.
8. Color or Black and White?
B&W
9. Landscape or Commercial?
Don't do commercial anymore.
11. Strobes or Natural light?
Natural, but I was pretty good with strobes ...
12. 645 film or full frame digital?
There are so many other choices ...
13. Who is your favorite living photographer? (Can't say yourself ;))
Matthew Magruder
14. If you could have a photographic superpower, what would it be (think of something)?
To take light readings with my eyes. | | | |

1. If you could shoot a portrait of any person that is alive today, who would it be? Stephen King, or Will Farrell
2. If you could shoot a portrait of an person that has died, who would it be (assuming they were back alive for the photographs)? JFK or Charles Bukowski
3. What is your least favorite aspect of modern photography? The reliance and insistence that gear will help the shot
4. Challenge: You just got plopped into a wedding reception with a camera and a hot-shoe flash. The lights are very low, and the ceiling is high and black. How would you shoot it? With a Smith and Wesson, aimed either at the wedding planner for getting me in this spot, or at myself for not having an additional/off camera flash to get the interesting lighting conditions.
5. If you HAD to shoot film, what camera/lens/film would you choose to use for your current work? I have both been forced to used film in a class, and have chosen freely to do so. For the class we were using Velvia 100 Slide, so I would stick with something in the velvia line for color, and I am still discovering the fun intricacies of the different B&W stocks, but so far, I really like ilford delta 400. As far as the camera, I am loving the rb67, and a canon 1v is a beautiful piece of engineering.
6. If you could have one item added to your equipment list, what would it be? 300 or 400 f/2.8
7. What is your least favorite type of photography that you do? candid Event photos
First thing that pops in your head:
8. Color or Black and White? Color
9. Landscape or Commercial? Commercial
10. Portrait or Wedding? Portrait
11. Strobes or Natural light? Dragging the shutter/mixed
12. 645 film or full frame digital? 120 film on 6x7, I need more backs, I would love to rely more on my film camera, and be able to switch as needed, I really need to do my Christmas shopping, wow where did this year go, where do I want to go next year, (did I mention I tend to be ADD)
and lastly...
13. Who is your favorite living photographer? (Can't say yourself ;)) I don't really have one -- Avedon is great, but not my favorite. There are several photogs on here that have really made an impression on me for being able to consistently produce great work, and make a living from it, so I pick any one of the dozen or so that are doing that!
actually no, here's the last one:
14. If you could have a photographic superpower, what would it be (think of something)? I like the idea of the in eye light readings, but to take it a step further, I think it would be cool to have a full resolution preview image linked to the camera settings, in my head.
---------------------------
Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!
