I've got a Pandigital one from Costco. It's a 4.6" I think, and you can pick them up for $79.99. With Costco, as long as you are a member, they offer a lifetime warranty.

I bought a fairly cheap 7" frame from Newegg for my mother as a Christmas present. Loaded it with music, pics and video clips of the family and grandkids. I think it cost me $79 and came with a free 2GB SD card. Can't recall the brand off the top of my head, but all in all I like it. Not the highest resolution in the world (16:9 ratio too), but for the price, it couldn't be beat.

EDIT: CenOmax brand - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882590001

They have a darn laptop if they want bigger/better rez... LOL!!

Costco has updated that policy for some electronics/TVs/Computers. Better double check just to be sure...

I bought a panodigital frame for our house. . . then went back and got one for my husband's office. Target had them on sale last week, normally 99.00 for 68.00. It's a 6 inch, resolution could be better, but it's still pretty nice.

I had an 8" Ceiva that died. We just bought two 8" at Circuit City that were on sale (like $60 off) for grandparents and I ordered an 11" frame for my wife (shhhh) for Xmas. Like a monitor, I think bigger is better. I didn't care about the bells and whistles of MP3s or Wi-Fi. While the latter would be nice at home, I can update the memory card for the savings.

If you want the ultimate digital picture frame, check out the estarling one.

The pictures can be updated wirelessly. The picture frame can connect to your wireless network and update from an email address or RSS feed.

So basically I can send pictures of my daughter to an email address, and like magic they instantly appear on my Mom's picture frame in her house. You can also send cell phone pics and instantly update the photoframe from anywhere~!

Also if you use Flickr, you can have the frame grab images from there.

2 thumbs up!

I looked at quite a few of them before settling on 2 for gifts. For overall quality of photos I went with the Kodak 10" frame that has wifi (EX1011) and I purchased an 8" SmartParts HD frame from Radio Shack for good quality and smaller footprint. I compared a lot side by side and did not like the Polaroid at all, I'd stay away from them.

I hope that helps.

Jim,

That is definitely cool with a great geek factor...

Wish I could justify such a frivolous $249 purchase.. LOL

You know I really like the idea of these, but they all just seem way overpriced to me. I would have expected them to drop in price by now, having been out a few years.

They're adding features instead of lowering the price. The first frame I bought required a subscription and you FTP'd photos to it. That subscription cost is now what a frame costs. You lose the convenience, but WiFi fames and the one above taking email negate that. My dad is doesn't have WiFi, email, or a PC for that matter. I'll switch memory cards with him whenever I have an updated photo as I see him weekly and am the only one giving him new photos.

It is like computers were originally. They were bigger and faster long before they were less expensive.

BTW, my dead Ceiva has a modem issue I believe. If anyone has an easy way to connect a card reader to it, I'd be a happy camper.

We also bought a couple of the Kodak frames and they were quite nice !

What I dont get ... WHY do they keep making these things in 16:9 format? Which camera takes pictures in this format? GAHH! What a bunch of wasted pixels!

Thanks guys, I think I'll go searching for the Kodak brand first then move on to another brand if they're not available. Oddly enough, I received my new issue of PopPhoto today and they also recommended the Kodak.
