Ok got a question it is a family tradition on my husbands side of the family to have tamales on Christmas eve, non-canned ;) So the question you can guess is where is a good place to find really good tamales at a restaurant or such that we can pick up this weekend? Any ideas? thanks :) | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Why not ask Sergio if he'll make some up? Might not be a normal thing for his cafe, but if he can't, I'm sure he can recommend someplace.

Finding tamales in San Antonio is like finding coal in New Castle. Here are some and you can just google "tamales San Antonio" for more.

We've always just "found" people that make them and sell them. One cousin has a construction company and it never falis that at least one worker comes in with a cooler full.
I know my mom does have someone that she bought from last year. I think it was just a friend though.. cause we had to go to a pawn-shop and ask for so-and-so to pick them up lol

Mel, those are the best kind. The "go down to the corner and ask Miguel, he will give you the password, then go over to the other side of town to the rundown building, give them the password and they will bring two dozen to your car" Man, those are good!!!

My dad and a man named Manuel worked together for 25 years for the school district in administration, and Manuel's wife would make our family a grocery sack full of them every year for Christmas. I have never before or since had any as good as these. My mom and dad still get some every year, but they never tell me that they have been delivered, so I always miss out now!
